Let us start with a short introduction. We are Francielle, Fenne and Phoebe, and we are currently in the third year of our MBO nursing education at Vista College in Maastricht. As interns we had the chance to join the trip to Tenerife!

On June 10, 2022, the time had finally come: our holiday trip to Tenerife started. That morning we were expected at 07:00 at the Geusselt. During a delicious breakfast we were given an explanation of what the intention was and who had which tasks. At 09:00 we met the guests for the first time and it was time to load up and leave for Eindhoven. The outward journey did not go entirely smoothly, but we all survived and arrived safely at our destination.

During our trip we made several excursions. We visited the national park of Tenerife, explored a botanical garden, admired the oldest dragon tree and enjoyed a delicious wine tasting.

The days without planned excursions were filled in according to the wishes of our guests. If they wanted to go shopping, we went shopping. If they wanted to stay by the pool, we stayed by the pool.

In the morning and evening we were ready for the care tasks. We did our utmost to get to know our guests well in a short time, so that we could offer them the most personalized care possible.

On June 21st it was already the last day of this wonderful trip. An emotional day for both the guests and for us as interns. Tired but satisfied we look back on this trip. We really enjoyed the time with our guests and fellow volunteers. We hope that our guests went home with a satisfied feeling and perhaps want to go on Heinz trips again in the future.

These trips are highly recommended and all three of us would love to participate again in the future. See you soon!
