My name is Simon Scholten and since 2023 I have proudly been a member of the board of the Heinz Special Holiday Travel Foundation .

My journey with Heinz started in 2016

In 2016 I first got to know Heinz and his special care holidays. At that time as a volunteer (intern), during a trip organized by another organization. That experience touched me deeply. A week later Heinz called me: did I want to go again. With some arrangements at school I could go on the trip again. That second adventure was the beginning of many unforgettable experiences.

Since then I have enjoyed participating in numerous trips – also after the establishment of the Heinz Foundation.

From intern to nurse to board member

After my training as a nurse, I worked for the Ministry of Defence for three years. This position gave me less opportunity to travel, but my involvement with the foundation has always remained. For example, I gave presentations at schools to recruit new interns. From 2023, I will be an active member of the board of Stichting Heinz

Website and social media: my responsibility with pleasure

Today I enthusiastically manage the website and social media of our foundation. In addition, I am actively involved in the recruitment of interns and new volunteers . Because let's be honest: without these fantastic people we cannot make our trips possible .
